Designed for the USMC, this low-profile pack features the Crux Short 3L Reservoir, offering a low stack height and optimum fit on a broad range of torso sizes. External fill means you can rapidly add water without having to remove the reservoir or tube from the pack. With 3L of cargo in the lower zip pocket and top fill flap, you can take along your small essentials while staying light and maneuverable.

Camelbak Ambush
The pack is of excellent construction. The straps are unpadded and easily concealed in the back facing compartment. This is very useful as a body armor pack, or just as a stand alone water bladder. I have enjoyed my new pack and hope to enjoy it for many more years to come!

Camelbak doesn't disappoint. I've had
Camelbak doesn't disappoint. I've had several versions down thru the years and their attention to improving the line is evident. I've had other hydration systems and the one major problem they've all had, including Camelbak, is in refilling the unit. Cumbersome, difficult and a down right pain in the @$$. Camelbak has made a big difference in its fill-cap with the new line. It's much easier to open and close, with a half turn and doesn't stick or get tuff to turn. The supporting handle at the mouth of the bag is much sturdier. The older style would eventually break. The bags pocket is large enough to accommodate a fairly large ice pack that keeps the water cold most of the day. And in the Georgia/Florida summer heat that literally is a lifesaver. My one and only recommendation would be to increase the insulation properties of the waterbag pocket even more. Overall, just a well made piece of equipment that I don't go to work without in the summer.

Small but good
I do miss the old mules, and the old water Resivoirs that were all compatible with other packs. However this one is still really good.
