This back protector is light and flexible. It's made out of the same material as some of my motorcycle armor. Definitely worth it.

Good protection
I use this protector with the H.A.W.G. Pro 20. I was worried it would add too much weight and make the back panel too hot, but I have not really noticed the weight or increased heat. I haven’t fallen on my back yet so can’t say much about the actual protection other than it appears to be robust. It was relatively easy to insert into the sleeve under the water bladder.

Recreational Protection
Just recreational riders, but because we carry heavy chain locks in our HAWG Pro packs, we use the Protector Panels just in case of a spill or fall. Inexpensive spine protection.

Well worth the $$$
I'm older but still crazy. Injuries take longer to heal now. I place pad in pocket and sometimes forget it's even there. I just put other body armored pieces in pak behind water bladder. Go to top. Spend 5 mins putting it all on and the spine pads covers back area well. Better safe than sorrier. Actually can't notice a temp change. But good to know it's there.
