i would give this 4.5
i would give this 4.5 stars out of 5. for reference i bike commute 17 miles to and from work and will sometimes ride up to 30-40 miles on the way home with this backpack on. i wont ride if there is rain in the forecast. the positives. the 22 liters is the perfect size for what i need. on a cold Wisconsin day this is my pack list. work laptop, laptop cables, travel mouse, phone, keys, wallet, headphone charger, pens, sunglasses, a small notebook, a snack, breakfast, lunch, and a full set of clothes for the day, shoes, and a quick dry towel. this backpack holds it all perfectly fine and is still comfortable to ride with. this is what i say is best about this backpack is that even being completely full this backpack is still comfortable to wear and breathable (will test this more in the humid summer). so it does what it sets out to do and does it pretty well. also props to the water bottle pouches. another thing that amazed me is that when you have your laptop or other large flat objects, there is only a slight change in stiffness of the bag against your back. the bad: -this bag works great for casual riding. if you want to ride fast or stand on the pedals, this bag starts to bounce and sway side to side on you back. the chest strap and waist strap are great but this bag needs to take a little more inspiration from the backpacking world. they should add over the should straps to bring the top of the bag closer to the shoulders and also provide sinch straps to sinch the bag when not entirely full. this wont completely solve the issue but it will help. - the strap pocket that is advertised to fit your phone does not fit current "large" smart phones. - the velcro for the laptop pouch does not stick and will get caught on clothes are you take them in and out. - don't know if this can be fixes or improved upon but when the bag is set on the ground it falls onto the outside face of the pack and if you want to open any of its pockets you have to stand it up (or flip it over), hold it up as it cant stand on its own, then open the zippers. its a small annoyance but one that is felt every time you set this bag down. summary: this bag is a great bag and it does what it is advertised as very well, i would recommend but i would warn them about the minor nit picks and the bouncing issues as soon as you start to stand on the bike. hope this helps
