CAMELBAK® TAKES INSULATED SPORTS BOTTLES TO NEXT LEVEL WITH PRO-TESTED PODIUM™CHILLJACKET™
SALT LAKE CITY (January 22, 2009)
The insulated water bottle trusted by Team Garmin-Slipstream for its demanding Tour de France preparations will soon be available for cyclists and fitness enthusiasts nationwide. CamelBak® Products LLC's new Podium™ChillJacket™insulated bottle features an innovative, self-sealing valve and superior squeezability - all in a streamlined, lightweight design that keeps athletes focused on performance.
The pro-tested, BPA-free Podium ChillJacket can be found at the CamelBak Outdoor Retailer booth (#17026) January 22-25. The bottle will hit specialty retailers nationwide starting in March at a suggested retail price of $12.
To help athletes hydrate faster and with less effort, the Podium ChillJacket features the high-flow CamelBak Jet Valve™, which eliminates the clumsy "bite-open-hip-slap-shut" interface found on conventional cycling and fitness bottles. The Jet Valve is self-sealing, so athletes can grab, drink from and stash the bottle without worrying about opening and closing the valve. An additional lockout toggle prevents leaks while transporting the bottle.
By keeping liquids cooler, the Podium ChillJacket encourages athletes to hydrate by drinking more often. With its airtight, foam-lined insulation and double-wall construction, the Podium ChillJacket keeps liquids cool twice as long as standard bottles.
CamelBak has incorporated its proprietary TruTaste™technology so that water tastes like it should in this new lightweight bottle, and its HydroGuard™Anti-Microbial lining to prevent bacteria build-up from sugar and supplements.
"By working with pro teams and riders, we've overcome the pain points and hassles that athletes complain about most with traditional water bottles," said Jon Austen, Director of Product Management for CamelBak. "With the Podium ChillJacket, we were able to deliver the familiar and preferred 'squeeze factor' and size while improving ease-of-use so athletes can refresh and refuel without missing a beat."
